A full Notre Dame Stadium illuminated for a night football game

College GameDay is coming to South Bend.

ESPN’s Saturday-morning show will originate from the Notre Dame campus before the Irish and Hurricanes meet under the lights. It brings an entire extra chapter to the day: an early crowd, a national stage, and then a 7:30 PM kickoff.

There is history here, too. College GameDay’s first campus broadcast took place at Notre Dame for the 1993 Florida State game.

Still to be announced: ESPN had not yet published the exact campus set location, pit access, or other fan-entry details. Check the official account before heading out.

The matchup

A rivalry born in 1988 returns with College GameDay on campus.

Miami comes to Notre Dame Stadium for a 7:30 PM ET kickoff, and ESPN College GameDay will begin the national conversation from South Bend at 9:00 AM ET.

For this guide, no matchup carries more personal meaning. The 1988 classic caught Matt’s attention as a high school student and gave him a reason to work toward Notre Dame. That game became the defining moment of a national-championship season—and the beginning of a Notre Dame life.

Now Miami returns in a season dedicated to Lou Holtz. The old story cannot play the new game, but it can remind this team what fearless football looks like when the entire country is watching.
