The rules change depending on the day. Plan the permit at home, navigate to the exact lot, then let the day begin.
Notre Dame uses license-plate-based ParkMobile permits for ordinary visitor parking, and select football event parking may also be sold through ParkMobile. Set up the account before the trip so you are not typing vehicle information from the entrance to a crowded lot.
Friday, Saturday, and an ordinary campus visit can look like three different parking systems. Start with the day—not the closest-looking space.
During normal business hours—Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET—visitors generally need a ParkMobile permit. Walsh Visitor Lot is the primary destination, with additional non-gated visitor options.
Visitor zones and rates →Visitor rules still apply, but stadium-area lots can fill as weekend events overlap. Allow extra time and consider Innovation Park or Bulla when official guidance directs overflow there.
Friday strategy →Visitor lots may convert to event use. Use the lot named on the pass or purchase an eligible pay-to-park option, then follow police and parking staff even when navigation suggests another turn.
Saturday operations →Enforcement reads the vehicle information entered in ParkMobile; there is no paper receipt to place on the dashboard. After 4:00 p.m., on weekends, and on University holidays, the listed visitor areas are generally free—but football games, concerts, and other major events override that rule.
No smartphone? ParkMobile lists telephone payment at 1-877-727-5007.
Bulla Student is an ordinary visitor ParkMobile option. On a home-football Saturday, the published Bulla event lot is accessible parking and requires the appropriate state-issued placard or license plate.
Use the ordinary visitor-parking process, but expect more vehicles, restricted areas, event setup, and overlapping activities. A space that is easy on Tuesday may be a poor assumption on Friday afternoon.
Confirm the zone, plate, state, and duration in ParkMobile. A session usually cannot be corrected after activation.
Innovation Park and Bulla are useful alternatives when official personnel redirect traffic away from full stadium-area lots.
Major-event restrictions can replace the ordinary visitor rules. Posted instructions and parking staff control.
Save the lot, row, and a landmark in Gameday Mode before joining the Friday activities.
All main pay-to-park lots currently open at 8:00 a.m. ET except Gold Lot, which opens later based on kickoff. Parking is cashless, availability is limited, and lot access can change with traffic conditions.
Gold currently opens at 10:00 a.m. for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff and 1:00 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
One pass covers one vehicle space. Spaces cannot be held, and zipper parking may determine the exact position.
Standard vehicles may be no larger than 7.5 feet wide and 20 feet long. Oversized vehicles use designated bus or RV parking.
Overnight parking is prohibited. Burke and Dorr currently require vehicles to exit within two hours after the game.
Each Google Maps link leaves the starting point open so your phone can calculate the route, current traffic, and ETA from wherever you are. Save a lot here and Gameday Mode will place it at the top of your day-of journey.
Before leaving St. Charles, I opened the exact route to Burke South and checked the live ETA. The useful question was not “How do I get to Notre Dame?” It was “How long will it take to reach my lot right now?”

Burke North is approached from the Angela Boulevard/SR 933 area. Dorr has its own signed event access.
White Field area off Douglas Road. Both lots provide shuttle service toward Hesburgh Library.
Bulla Road west of Twyckenham Drive. Gameday accessible parking requires a state-issued credential.
Close-in destinations require the corresponding pass or current event authorization.
Use the published approach point for Joyce or the named Innovation Park destination.
Limited bus and RV capacity near St. Joseph Drive and Moreau Drive. Advance purchase may be required.
Pay-to-park alternatives along State Road 933. Confirm current availability, price, and shuttle schedule.

Matt’s tip: Open the map before entering the stadium and take a screenshot if cell service is busy. Facilities and access routes can change, so posted signs and stadium personnel always control.
Parking locations, availability, prices, construction, traffic patterns, shuttle operations, and event rules can change. Check the current official material again on game week and follow personnel on site.
