A gritty road win in the rain keeps Notre Dame unbeaten
Notre Dame answered a one-point game with two long touchdown drives and beat North Carolina 37–26 at Kenan Stadium. CJ Carr accounted for five touchdowns, Jonaz Walton ran for 120 yards, and the Irish moved to 5–0 after a wet afternoon that demanded a response.
A 21–7 lead became 21–20 across the halftime break. That was the test: find a way to settle a game that had become uncomfortable. Notre Dame did it with sustained offense, moving the chains while the rain kept falling.
The defense helped build the early lead with two interceptions and held UNC to 77 rushing yards. Boubacar Traore supplied six tackles and four quarterback hurries. There were also clear corrections to make: a goal-line opportunity went unfinished, and kickoff coverage surrendered a touchdown.
